Moldova targeted by Killnet campaign

The STISC reports that several attempts of cyber attacks on information systems of national importance have been prevented over the past 72 hours.

DDoS attacks were launched against a number of web pages belonging to public authorities in the Republic of Moldova.

Killnet also carried out similar attacks on other EU countries’ websites, as well as the NATO web infrastructure, and in recent days in Romania.

Killnet is a pro-Russian hacker group known for its DoS (denial of service) and DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks on government institutions and private companies in several countries.

The group is believed to have formed around March 2022.
