For the ‘ELVIS’ biopic soundtrack, Kacey Musgraves recorded a cover of ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love.’

After revealing that she has included the late King of Rock and Roll’s mega-hit ‘Hound Dog’ in the new track ‘Vegas’ from the upcoming ‘ELVIS Original Motion Picture Soundtrack’ to Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film, the 33-year-old country-pop star revealed that she has put her own spin on the iconic ballad from 1961’s ‘Blue Hawaii’LP.

“She [Kacey] has a song in the movie – something to do with love,” Luhrmann, 59, said of Doja, 26, during an interview at the Met Gala in New York on Sunday night (02.05.22).

Bob Dylan, Perry Como, Doris Day, Andy Williams, U2 and Bruce Springsteen have all covered the mega-hit throughout the years.

The trailer for ‘Vegas’ will be unveiled on May 6, with the picture reaching theatres on June 24.

Doja debuted the song live at Coachella recently, bringing out Yola, the Nashville musician who plays Sister Rosetta Tharpe in ‘ELVIS’.

Colonel Tom Parker, played by Tom Hanks, is the enigmatic manager of Austin Butler’s ‘Jailhouse Rock’ hitmaker.

“The soundtrack showcases Elvis’s incredible body of work spanning the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, while also saluting his numerous musical influences and continuing impact on popular musicians today,” according to a press statement announcing the soundtrack.

“‘ELVIS’ is an enormous, big-screen spectacular from visionary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann that explores the life and music of Elvis Presley through the prism of his mysterious manager, Colonel Tom Parker,” the statement continued.

The soundtrack is expected to boost streaming numbers for Elvis’ back catalogue, similar to what the Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ did for the ‘We Are The Champions’ hitmakers in 2018.

Meanwhile, Universal Music Publishing Group recently purchased the discography of the icon.

In an agreement to represent Elvis’ repertoire, the music publishing behemoth teamed up with Authentic Brands Group.

During his career, the pop culture giant, who died of a heart attack at the age of 42 in 1977 after battling addiction, sold more than 500 million records.
