Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths premiered at the Venice Film Festival

Bardo premiered in competition for the Golden Lion at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on September 1, 2022, and is set to be released in theatres on November 18, 2022, before streaming on Netflix on December 16, 2022.

Daniel Giménez Cacho plays a Mexican journalist and documentarian in the film.

The three-hour epic follows the memories and fears of a Mexican journalist as he reflects on his life journey.

It will be released in both countries’ cinemas before becoming available on the streaming service on December 16.

“Bardo” by Alejandro González Iárritu follows a Mexican documentary filmmaker as he briefly returns to Mexico before returning to the United States to accept an award.

The film addresses issues such as identity, history, migration, family, love, and loss.

Netflix is also premiering three other films at Venice, including “Blonde,” “Athena,” and “White Noise,” which premiered on Wednesday.
