Sony has announced plans to expand its Chinese game incubation business, also known as the China Hero Project. The company intends to increase its investment in the region to foster new games and developers. So far, the company has supported 17 small-scale games while also striking lucrative deals such as Genshin Impact.
Sony intends to support Chinese games via PlayStation Studios and to publish games, beginning with Lost Soul Aside.
Sony intends to invest one million yuan (approximately $140,000) in each China-developed game that it incubates through its programmes. This comes at a time when Microsoft is actively courting Chinese developers and there are reports that Sony intends to compete with the Xbox maker in the country.
