Google Calendar has been displaying events that were generated at random and were triggered by messages in the user’s Gmail inbox.

The majority of the events appear to be all-day events triggered by a glitch in the Gmail mobile app on select Android and iOS devices.

Users can avoid the bug by going to Settings > Events > Disable ‘Automatically add events from Gmail to my calendar’.

A problem in the Gmail mobile app on select Android and iOS devices has been reported to be the source of the bug. The wrongly constructed events appear to be all-day activities that do not lead to any genuine event.

Several Twitter users shared screenshots of their Google Calendar apps, which were loaded with strange activities.
