There will be no Russian companies displaying their products at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada, from January 5 to 8.

This is because Russia invaded Ukraine in February of last year. Since then, the United States, Canada, the European Union, and other countries have imposed sanctions on Russia.

The simmering war between the two European countries has had a significant impact on the IT industry and the global economy. Moscow has prohibited the sale of “noble” gases such as neon, argon, and helium to countries considered hostile to Russia.

The aforementioned gases are essential in the production of miniature electronic chips, which are integrated in a variety of devices. CES 2023 is expected to draw roughly 10,000 participants when it closes on Sunday, January 8.
