Apple’s public stance on user data privacy has been in the spotlight as a result of a civil lawsuit filed against Israeli NSO Group.

Apple’s new security feature is only available for developers to preview and test in iOS 16 beta 3.

Lockdown Mode is described by Apple as “a groundbreaking capability that reflects our unwavering commitment to protecting users from even the rarest, most sophisticated attack.”

In a tweet, Citizen Lab Senior “Malware” Researcher John Scott-Railton endorsed this groundbreaking capability.
