The company operates dozens of Amazon Fresh locations throughout the United States and has expanded internationally.

Amazon charges $3.95 (about Rs. 600) for shipping for orders between $100 and $150, and $6.95 for sales between $50 and $100. Amazon Fresh delivery over $150 will continue to be free.

The decision comes as the corporation tries to cut costs in an uncertain economic environment. It said last month that it will lay off 18,000 employees.
