Starlink is testing a new satellite internet service that will allow them to “connect from almost anywhere on the planet’s land.”

The new Global Roaming service will cost an extra $200 per month on top of the $599 Starlink Kit.

The service uses Starlink’s inter-satellite connections, also known as space lasers, to provide global connectivity. It is marketed as a more flexible option for accessing the company’s satellite internet when travelling internationally, and users can pause Global Roaming in the same way that they can with the RV plan.

However, there is a significant catch: users should expect Starlink’s regular high-speed, low-latency service to be interspersed with brief periods of poor connection, or none at all.
