2022 British Grand Prix to be held at Silverstone on July 3

The F1 World Championship will be held at Silverstone in Northamptonshire.

The 77th British Grand Prix at Silverstone is expected to draw another record crowd, with seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton aiming to repeat his dramatic 2021 victory.

Around 350,000 people are expected to visit Northamptonshire during the massive event on the British sporting calendar.

The British Grand Prix 2022 takes place on July 3, with qualifying on July 2 and practise on July 1.

Spectators began arriving at Silverstone up to five days before the main race, with many camping nearby.

It is a Grand Prix that has almost always been held in midsummer, with the exception of the first edition at Silverstone, which was held in October.

Silverstone hosts the British Touring Car Championship as well as the British Grand Prix. Brooklands Circuit in Surrey hosted two Grands Prix in 1926 and 1927.

Between 1955 and 1960, the Grand Prix was held at Aintree, near Liverpool.

Moto GP was first held at Silverstone between 1977 and 1986, and it has been held there again since 2010.
