NASA will attempt a second launch of its Space Launch System (SLS) rocket from Kennedy Space Center on Saturday, September 3, at 2:17 p.m. EDT. That time marks the start of a two-hour launch window.

NASA’s first attempt to launch the mega moon rocket from historic launch pad 39B was cancelled.

The launch of Artemis I marks the beginning of NASA’s programme to send the first woman and first person of colour to the moon.

If successful, astronauts will be able to fly a similar profile on Artemis II no later than 2024.

Then, sometime after 2025, Artemis III will return two astronauts to the lunar surface.

For Labor Day weekend, the Space Coast is expected to have typical summer weather.

Temperatures along the Space Coast are expected to range from the upper 80s to the lower 90s.

Because of the humidity, the temperature will feel like it is in the 100s or 105s.

In the past, 10,000 people have attended a surf festival in Cocoa Beach. Playalinda Beach, which is part of the Canaveral National Seashore and is located north of the space centre, will be closed to the public during the launch.

If you can’t make it to the Space Coast to see NASA Artemis launch live, you can watch it online.
