India Ria Amarteifio to play young Queen Charlotte in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Shonda Rhimes’ young Queen Charlotte spinoff series, including the actress who will play the young Charlotte, has been confirmed by Netflix.

India Amarteifio (“Line of Duty”) plays the young Queen in the Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

“Betrothed against her will to the enigmatic King of England, Charlotte arrives in London only to find she is not what the royals expected.”

According to Netflix’s character description, “as she learns to navigate the palace, the ‘tonne, and her unpredictable husband, she blossoms into one of Europe’s most unforgettable monarchs.”

Golda Rosheuvel reprises her role as Queen Charlotte from Season 1 of “Bridgerton.”

The series will revolve around Queen Charlotte’s rise to power and prominence.

Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury will also be featured. Sam Clemmett plays young Brimsley, and Richard Cunningham plays Lord Bute.

“Determined to keep her family’s power, the Dowager Princess goes to any length to secure her son’s place,” Fairley writes.

The limited series’ showrunner, executive producer, and writer is Shonda Rhimes.
