Huawei records steady revenue in 2022 after US sanctions

Due to stringent US restrictions, the struggling Chinese computer behemoth has been fighting a digital battle with the US.

Huawei Technologies Co anticipates sales of 636.9 billion yuan, or $91.5 billion, in 2022.

Despite Huawei’s efforts to diversify its revenue streams, the flat increase highlights the company’s rising troubles after US sanctions significantly harmed its smartphone business and foreign sales.

Huawei’s tech war with the United States began in 2019. The Chinese smartphone maker was preparing to launch its new top smartphone series, the Mate 30.

Several governments have threatened to bar the company’s 5G network equipment from entering their countries. By mid-2019, Huawei’s supply chain for computer hardware and software was under attack.
