Banks issue alerts to customers about mobile banking malware

When users log into their net-banking apps and access bank accounts, the SOVA Android Trojan steals their credentials.

The new SOVA version appears to be aimed at more than 200 mobile applications, including banking apps and cryptocurrency wallets.

HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, and Karur Vysya Bank have launched a comprehensive customer awareness campaign.

Banks advise customers to always review app details before downloading apps on Android devices, even from Google Play.

Malware capable of collecting keystrokes, stealing cookies, intercepting MFA tokens, taking screenshots and recording video from a webcam, and performing gestures such as screen click, swipe, and so on.
