Air India Express flight from Calicut to Dubai diverted to Muscat after burning odour detected

An Air India Express flight from Calicut to Dubai was diverted to Muscat after a burning odour was detected from one of the forward galley vents.

The on-ground engineering inspections were carried out, according to a senior official with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). There were no reports of the smell of fuel, oil, or hydrogen contamination.

In the last 48 hours, three international airlines’ planes made emergency landings at various airports across the country.

On Friday and Saturday, these landings took place in Calicut, Chennai, and Kolkata.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered a thorough investigation into all incidents.
