AI Express and AirAsia India seek synergies ahead of merger

AirAsia India and Air India Express are undergoing an operational review, and the merger is expected to be finalised by the end of 2023. Both airlines are considering customer touchpoint synergies such as a shared website, social network accounts, and call centre.

Other issues, such as boarding cards and baggage tags, are also being considered, according to an official.

The Tata group is in the midst of unifying its airline businesses, which will include Air India Express and AIX Connect as low-cost carriers.

Last month, Tata Group announced the merger of Vistara and Air India, as part of which Singapore Airlines will purchase a 25.1% share in Air India.
