A plane crashes into the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of Huntington Beach

A small plane crashed in Huntington Beach on Friday.

Lifeguards were able to quickly pull the pilot from the plane and land him.

He wasn’t seriously hurt, but he went to the hospital to be checked out.

On the beach, there was a junior lifeguard competition, but they were not involved in the rescue.

On his phone, a man standing in the sand captured crystal clear video of the crash.

Lifeguards jumped into action right away to assist the pilot, who was airlifted to safety.

The FAA is looking into how close the plane came to hitting the water.
