Xi Jinping expresses desire to strengthen bilateral relations between India and China

Droupadi Murmu was sworn in as the 15th President of India on July 25.

Xi Jinping, the Chinese President, congratulated her and expressed his desire to strengthen bilateral relations between India and China.

In his message, Xi emphasises that China and India are important neighbours and that a strong and stable relationship between the two countries is in both countries’ citizens’ best interests.

President Murmu took the oath of office from Chief Justice of India NV Ramanna.

She is the first President of independent India, and she was honoured to take office as the country celebrates 75 years of independence.
