TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew expressed hope that the company will never have to lay off half of its employees, as Twitter did under Elon Musk. He emphasised the importance of having enough personnel to handle content moderation and security. According to him, TikTok employs tens of thousands of people in content moderation. Chew was quick to point out that he is not a Musk detractor. “At this point, I’m not sure it’s fair to comment on where he’s taking the company.”
