The NHTSA’s tests also show that the Model 3 has the lowest risk of injury of any vehicle tested by the agency.

Previous Model S and Model X tests still hold the record for the second and third lowest injury probabilities. When the other Model 3 variants are rated, we expect similar results.

Tesla’s Model 3 electric vehicle has a weight distribution that is nearly 50/50 and an extremely low polar moment of inertia.

This means that the car’s heaviest components are closer to the centre of gravity. Despite the fact that the Model 3 lacks an engine, its performance is comparable to that of a “mid-engine car” due to its centred battery pack and rear motor design.
