The network chief of Telecom Italia (TIM) is expected to leave after the summer.

The move may complicate the phone company’s plan to separate its fixed grid infrastructure from its services unit in order to reduce debt.

According to people familiar with the situation, Stefano Siragusa has been at odds with Chief Executive Pietro Labriola over strategy.

The move would add to the project’s mounting challenges, including the collapse of Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s coalition government.

TIM stated that it had “not made any announcements about exits” at this time and that any “allusions about exits dictated by disagreements” with its strategic line were “rejected.”
