From October 4 to October 10, the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota (SDSC – SHAR) will commemorate World Space Week.

The event will be inaugurated on Tuesday by Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi.

SDSC-SHAR is one of the Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) leading centres, and will thus be at the forefront of showcasing India’s achievements during the week.

SDSC-SHAR, known as India’s “Spaceport,” is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a week-long celebration at its Sullurpeta campus.

The festivities will also take place at eight other locations in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Odisha.

At the venues, science exhibits depicting India’s advancements in space will be on display.

Senior ISRO scientists and officials will attend the inaugural and valedictory sessions at all locations.
