Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary Indian cricketer, recalled an anecdote from Team India’s heroic victory over England in the Natwest series final in 2002.

On July 13, 2002, the Men in Blue defeated England by two wickets at Lord’s Cricket Ground, riding high on Mohammed Kaif’s unbeaten 87 runs off 75 balls.

He also stated that Yuvraj Singh and Kaif approached him after the game and asked what they could have done to help the team.

After India won the World 20-20, Sourav Ganguly removed his shirt in celebration, and Sachin Tendulkar described it as a “fantastic moment.”

Yuvraj Singh and Kaif enquired as to what else they could have done for the team after winning the tournament, to which he replied that continuing to do so would be sufficient for Indian cricket.

Both players went on to become India’s flag bearers in the years that followed.
