Rishi Sunak has declared his candidacy for Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Sunak claims to have the support of 80 to 100 MPs. He also released his campaign video, in which he discusses his background.
I’m standing to be the next leader of the Conservative Party and your Prime Minister.

The video included images of his parents as well as scenes from his childhood.
It also relied on his time as UK finance minister to back up the notion that he can be a better leader.
In comparison to most Tories in the UK political establishment, Rishi Sunak is viewed as a “Disney prince” version of a politician.
His £20 weekly cut to universal credit did not go down well with the British people.
Most people expected the former chancellor to spend more money.
Rishi plans to capitalise on the popularity he gained in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic by providing financial assistance to British businesses.
