Recent Layoffs Impact Amazon Prime Air Drone Delivery Unit

Employees were let go at a number of sites, including the Seattle headquarters and an Oregon drone testing centre.

This comes only two months after the business unveiled a new drone capable of flying farther than the previous model.

Amazon is bracing for a busy holiday season and has increased staffing at its packaging centres across Germany.

The startup plans to deliver 500 million products by drone to millions of clients in major cities such as Seattle, Boston, and Atlanta each year. Amazon did not say how many people were let go from the division.
