It will be the first major test of NASA’s plan to return humans to the moon’s surface by 2025.

The Space Launch System (SLS) is the most powerful rocket ever built, producing more thrust than the Saturn V rocket that launched the Apollo astronauts to the moon.

Orion will carry sensor-equipped mannequins to ensure astronauts’ safety during the journey.

The first crewed flight of the craft is scheduled for 2024, and the first woman to walk on the moon could happen in 2025.
