Mystery surrounding Steve Irwin’s death tape that captured his final moments

Steve Irwin died 16 years ago on September 4th after being stabbed in the heart by a stingray.

His death sparked an outpouring of grief from his fans all over the world.

An underwater camera captured the incident that took Irwin’s life off Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

However, the location of his death and the location of the original footage remain unknown to this day.

Justin Lyons made the unfortunate recording, not realising Irwin had been stabbed through the heart.

He only realised when he returned to the boat and noticed Irwin struggling to breathe.

Irwin was not supposed to be shooting stingrays that day because filming for Ocean’s Deadliest had been cancelled due to bad weather.
