Montenegro Claims Massive Russian Cyberattack Against Government

Montenegro’s security agency warned Friday that Russian hackers had launched a massive, coordinated cyberattack against the small country’s government and services.

Montenegro is currently “under a hybrid war,” according to the Agency for National Security, or ANB.

Despite strong opposition from Moscow, the Adriatic Sea state joined NATO in 2017.

Montenegro has been added to Russia’s list of “enemy states” for acting against the Kremlin’s interests.

Montenegro reported the first in a series of cyberattacks on its servers earlier this week.

Montenegro is currently “under a hybrid war,” according to the Agency for National Security, or ANB.

Despite strong opposition from Moscow, the Adriatic Sea state joined NATO in 2017.

It has also joined Western sanctions against Russia in response to the invasion of Ukraine.
