In their respective events, Sanket Sargar took silver and Gururaj Poojary took bronze.

Chanu’s efforts earned India its third medal of the day, all of which were in weightlifting. Since her Olympic triumphs in Tokyo last year, the 27-year-old has been relatively quiet.

In February, she won the 55kg category at the Singapore International, lifting 191kg. Chanu’s Saturday entry total is 205kg, which is her personal best from the Asian Championships last year (86kg snatch + 119kg clean and jerk).
