Microsoft’s ideas for a dual-screen foldable Surface computer may have been abandoned. For almost a year, the company was believed to be prototyping and experimenting with hardware.

According to reports, Microsoft may go with a more classic “True” foldable form. It is still unclear what Microsoft’s final hardware and software intentions are for the rumoured forthcoming Surface Duo 3.

Microsoft had intended to release the Surface Duo 3, the successor to the Surface Duo 2, as a dual-screen folding device. The Surface Duo 3 was supposed to be released around the end of 2023, with smaller and taller edge-to-edge displays and wireless charging.
