Microsoft has finally delivered on one of the most anticipated features of Windows 11.

Insider Preview build 25136, which was just released to the Dev Channel, adds File Explorer Tabs and some navigation updates to Windows 11.

Tabs in File Explorer are designed to help you work across multiple locations at the same time, just as Microsoft teased during its recent Windows Powers the Future of Hybrid Work event.

The tabs are located in the title bar and allow you to quickly access your favourite content.

However, it appears to be in the A/B testing phase at the moment. According to Microsoft, the feature is still in the works and will not be available to all Insiders in the Dev Channel just yet.

This allows them to track user feedback on the feature.

Microsoft has refreshed the layout of the left navigation pane in addition to the tabbed experience. It is now simpler to navigate to folders that are important to you.

Surprisingly, a second new feature in this build is related to Widgets.

Microsoft is experimenting with Dynamic Widgets content on the taskbar, so you’ll be able to see updates about sports and finance, as well as breaking news, in addition to live content from the weather widget.
