Margaret Alva receives Shiv Sena’s support

Margaret Alva, the opposition’s joint vice presidential candidate, has received Shiv Sena support.

This follows the announcement by NCP chief Sharad Pawar that “17 parties are on board with this unanimous decision.”

The party backed NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu because ‘she is a tribal woman and there is sentiment in the country for tribals.’

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut stated that the Shiv Sena supported the NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu because “she is a tribal woman, and there is sentiment for tribals in the country.”

While announcing Margaret Alva’s candidacy for vice president, NCP chief Sharad Pawar stated that “17 parties are on board with this unanimous decision.”

Previously, the former Union Minister served as Governor of Goa, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan. The BJP-led NDA has nominated Jagdeep Dhankar, the current Governor of West Bengal, as its candidate for vice president.
