India wins gold in the Men’s Table Tennis final

At the Commonwealth Games 2022, India successfully defended its gold medal in the Table Tennis (TT) men’s team event, defeating Singapore 3-1 in the final.

Table Tennis has consistently produced good results for India at the Commonwealth Games.

Since the sport was introduced at the CWG, India has always returned with a medal.

The Indian men’s TT team were the favourites and dominated the entire race to win gold. In the TT men’s team final, India faced Singapore.

After the first two games, Both teams were tied at 1-1. India worked hard for the first game, 11-13, but the next two sets were easily won,

7-11 and 3-11, giving India the lead. The final started with a doubles match between Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Harmeet Desai vs Izzac Yong Quek and Koen Pang.

Veteran Achanta Sharath Kamal faced off against Zhe Yu Clarance Chew in the second match. Chew won the match convincingly by scores of 11-7, 12-14, 11-3, and 11-9.
