The story will take place at the start of World War II.

Peaky Blinders’ sixth and final season ended on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

The episode featured numerous plot twists for the cursed Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his associates, bringing some threads to a close while teasing more for the big screen adaptation.

Steven Knight had previously stated that a seventh season was in the works, but things changed during the production of the sixth.

He revealed that he had intended to end the series with a ballet version of the show.

Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, is a member of a well-dressed, violent criminal gang in 1920s and 1930s Birmingham.

Poverty and overcrowding fueled the growth of violent street gangs.

These gangs lacked the rigid structure of organised crime organisations such as the Mafia. They frequently dissolved and reformed into new groups.

Peaky Blinders begins its story in 1919, implying that the gang has been around for quite some time.

However, the real Peaky Blinders gang existed in Birmingham much earlier than the 1920s — and only for a short time.

It first appeared in the 1890s to challenge the Cheapside Sloggers, a previous gang that had ruled the area for nearly two decades.

The Blinders ruled for roughly 20 years before being largely supplanted by rival gangs.

Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson are expected to reprise their roles as Tommy and Arthur Shelby, respectively. In the future of the franchise, Stephen Graham could reprise his role as Hayden Stagg.

First and foremost, Peaky Blinders will be continued in the Peaky Blinders film.

While there will be no seventh season of Peaky Blinders, there will be a feature film and possibly a spin-off series.

Production on the film is expected to begin in the coming months, with Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson reprising their roles as Tommy and Arthur Shelby, respectively.

Steven Knight announced plans for a feature-length Peaky Blinders film in January 2021, but production is expected to begin in early 2023 at the most.

Given this, it appears that fans can expect the film to premiere in early 2024.

Knight has also hinted that Stephen Graham may reprise his role as Hayden Stagg in the franchise’s future.

“It’s been brilliant,” Knight said of Graham’s performance to Metro. “I want to keep him as part of it going forward.”

“I know what’s going to happen in those stories, and it’s about a sort of untold story that happened in the Second World War, which Peakys are going to be involved in,” Knight said.
