Police have filed a FIR against two unknown individuals under Section 507 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the IT Act (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication).
A group of hackers allegedly stole and deleted data from KN Modi Foundation educational institutes and demanded USD 1 million in cryptocurrency to resolve the issue.
According to police, the hackers stole and deleted all student and staff data from the institute’s computers.
Sandeep Kumar Yadav, who runs a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Ghaziabad, filed a complaint with the police.
