Google patches the fifth Chrome zero-day vulnerability discovered this year

Google has released a Chrome browser security update that addresses nearly a dozen vulnerabilities.

The most recent is CVE-2022-2856, which is classified as a high-severity security flaw.

This is the fifth zero-day vulnerability in Google Chrome this year that threat actors are actively exploiting.

Ashley Shen and Christian Resell, both members of the Google Threat Analysis Group, discovered and reported the vulnerability (TAG).

The security update is currently being rolled out to Windows, Mac, and Linux users.

Users who have automatic updates enabled should receive it within the next few days/weeks.

It is recommended that you update your browser as soon as possible.
