The Group of Ministers investigating GST on casinos is expected to submit a report to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman within a day or two.

Previously, GoM held a virtual meeting to discuss various methods of taxation for casinos, horse racing, and online gaming.

Horse racing, online gaming, and casinos are all considered betting and gambling by the GoM, and a 28% GST on gross sales value is proposed.

It also suggested that online gaming be taxed at the full value of the consideration, including the player’s contest entry fee.
