Fraudulent call center operating Gurugram busted

Nine people were arrested after posing as federal police officers and allegedly duping foreign nationals and extorting money from them.

According to police, a laptop and eight computers were also seized during the raid.

Officers said they received a tip that a call centre was illegally operating from a building in DLF Phase 2, so they conducted a raid.

According to police, the accused allegedly targeted foreign nationals by claiming to be from the “federal police department.”

They allegedly threatened potential victims’ ‘national identity numbers’ and forced them to buy gift cards.
