Electric scooter owner fined for driving without a pollution certificate

The Kerala Traffic Police fined an electric scooter owner for not having a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.

The receipt states Rs 250 and refers to Section 213(5)(e) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

An e-challan issued by Kerala traffic police on Tuesday has surfaced online.

It was given for “Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) that could not be produced on demand.”

The fine is Rs 250, as printed on the receipt. According to the receipt, he was fined for “driving without sufficient fuel with passengers.”
