Cyber fraud gang busted, 65 people arrested

A cyber fraud gang where people were duped by accused via link messages on pretext of BSES has been busted in India.

So far 65 people have been arrested, said Special CP, HGS Dhaliwal.

People have lost lakhs of rupees as a result of cyber fraud in India.

A man in Meerut has claimed that he was duped out of Rs 1.84 crore by a website that promised multifold benefits.

Another case was reported in nearby Ghaziabad, where a man claimed to have lost Rs 95 lakh after believing in a job offer from abroad.

Both cases have been reported to the Noida Cyber Crime police station in Sector 36 and are currently being investigated.

A senior management official with a private firm was duped out of Rs 95.9 lakh by a Poland-based company that asked for fund transfers under the guise of fees for visa applications, work permits, travel insurance, and other reasons.
