Christopher Nolan created a map of the film’s five levels and how they intersected throughout the linear narrative.

It’s not easy to read all of it, and it doesn’t reveal any plot details about the film, but it’s interesting to see Nolan’s thought process laid bare.

An infographic depicts the director’s thought process behind the film’s complex structure, as well as some changes made along the way.

Without giving anything away, let’s just say that the final puzzle can be solved by watching the movie in its entirety.
