Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s meeting with Amit Shah has sparks controversy in the state’s political circles
The meeting between Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Amit Shah has raised eyebrows in the state’s political circles.
CM Soren was in Delhi for an appearance before the Election Commission of India (ECI) in an office-for-profit case stemming from BJP allegations.
The meeting takes place at a time when the JMM is divided over whether to support the BJP’s presidential nominee and when cracks have appeared in its alliance with the Congress.
Governor Ramesh Bais referred the matter to the Election Commission of India (ECI), which has the authority to remove Soren from office.
There are also PILs in the High Court requesting that central agencies investigate the CM for alleged irregularities in mining allotments.
