CEO of Fidelity sees crypto winter as an opportunity to double down and go all in on crypto

Fidelity Investments CEO Abigail Johnson reaffirmed her belief in cryptocurrency and Bitcoin at a crCoinDesk event in Austin, Texas.

In the midst of a bearish cryptocurrency market, Johnson offered advice to all crypto investors at Consensus 2022.

Fidelity Investments is a big fan of cryptocurrencies, advising governments and even central banks to invest in these blockchain-based assets. Grayscale and Bitwise, two cryptocurrency investment firms, expressed optimism about the approval of a Bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) this year.

“I feel awful about the value that is lost, but I also believe the industry in crypto has a lot more to come,” Johnson said while commenting on the decline of the cumulative market capitalization of the crypto industry.

Grayscale recently hired Donald B. Verrilli Jr., the Obama administration’s solicitor general from 2011 to 2016, to strengthen its legal team as it continues to push for approval of its request.
