Boris Johnson agreed to resign as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after nearly three years in office.

Critics had called for his resignation, claiming that he was too close to party donors and too cosy with tabloids.

Treasury Secretary Nadhim Zahawi urged Johnson to resign, saying, “This is not sustainable, and it will only get worse.”

This week, two more members of Johnson’s Cabinet resigned, bringing the total number of resignations to 50.
