Following the Agnipath protests, the Bihar government has suspended internet and mobile phone services in many districts. Internet and telecommunications services will be suspended in the districts of Kaimur, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Buxar, Nawada, West Champaran, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Vaishali, and Saran until June 19.

Arrah, Chapra, Aurangabad, Nawada, Jehanabad, and Buxar are among the districts in Bihar experiencing a wave of violence in response to protests against the Agnipath scheme. The youth in these districts rely heavily on Army jawan recruitment drives for employment.

After completing Class 12, these young people apply to join the Army as jawans, which is their ticket to a secure future and marriage prospects.

Their dreams, however, have been shattered by the Agnipath scheme, which has reduced the job duration from 15 years to four, with only 20% eligible for a permanent commission.
